Hi From South Africa

Dear Family and Friends, November 28, 2010
Every Monday is our p day which means clean house, do laundry, buy groceries, and most fun for us is to dress down.  We wear causual clothes and stay at our boarding.  If we go out then we have to put on our missionary clothes.  Lorry usually washes the car too.  We would like to have it done but it takes about an hour to have it wash and hand dried and the inside cleaned out.  That means we just sit and wait for them to do it.  It is nice to have a day to do what we would like though.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we teach piano.  This last week we taught 2 in Ladysmith, 8 at Ezakheni, 3 in Dannhouser, and 5 in Dundee.  We are teaching in a home at Ezakheni that a single mother is raising her three plus two other children who don't have a home.  She has the sweetest spirit and we thought it would be fun to teach her children.  We took a brand new key board to their house and let them participate in opening the new key board---what fun.  We mostly have boys but we do have 3 girls learning.  I couldn't do this without Lorry's help.  We love the kids and enjoy teaching them to play.  Now, the hard part is getting them to practice.  This last two weeks they have been having test at school so all their time was spent preparing for exams.  Now they can get back to practicing.
Friday we had the privilege of going to the Temple to see Tyler and Leloni married for time and eternity in the Temple.  We had a small problem in our boarding.  We got up at six and took our showers and were preparing to leave and we had this gusher coming from a pipe betwee the two bathrooms.  Lorry turned off the water and then the hot water tank started loosing all the water.  He turned it back on and called the realitor about our problem.  We were so surprised when she answered the phone at 7am.  She said she would get a plumber over as soon as she could.  We told her we had to leave before noon.  The plumber came at nine and said he had to get a part to fix the water heater and he would have it fixed by 10am, which he did.  The relief valve had broke.  We had to be at the Temple by 3 and we got there at 2.  The Ward's came for the wedding too, so we went to dinner after the wedding that was over about 6:30.  The Temple has boarding so we spent the night.  We got up and went to the Temple at 8:30 Saturday morning.  We were there until 12.  Then we went to lunch with the Ward's and headed home.
Today we went to Dundee to Church.  I am playing the piano for the Primary program.  Elder Thatcher has been trying to teach the songs to the Primary kids.  I told them if they sing really good on the 12 of December, I would bring chocolate.
On our way home from Johannasburg after we go through Harrismith they have some camels as we travel through the mountains.  We stopped and I took some pictures.  One on the camels has a baby, but when I walk down to take its picture the baby was laying down.  We finally got our pictures down loaded so we can attach some of the animals including the camels.
I forgot to tell you about our Thanksgiving.  Lorry cooked about a 12 lb turkey.  We had six of the Elders for dinner at 1:30pm.  It was a perfect dinner, everything was ready right on time.  We had turkey, mash pototoes, dressing(made from scratch)butternut squash made like sweet potatoes, fresh green beans with onions and bacon, cranberry sauce made from frozen canberries, and apple crisp with whip cream for dessert.  The Elders did not go away hungrey.  As soon as we had dinner we took off for Dannhouser to teach piano lessons.
Next week is transfers for the Elders.  We have one Elder going home and we will probably loose another one to another area.
We are truely blessed to be having this experience.  I couldn't be more happy being here in South Africa.  I can't think how far away we are or I would probably get home sick.  My brother-in-law Jimmy can tell you what a home sick kid I was.
If anyone would like to skpe with us we would love to skpe.  Modern technology will allow us to see one another.  Sunday evenings at 6pm our time is good.  This will be in the morning for most of you.
We Love our mission and feel we are truely being blessed and we have been told our families will be bless too.  That is such a wonderful promise and blessing.
Love you and miss you
Sister and Elder Hudson
